Mindset Refresh: New Moon in Gemini

We welcome a new moon in the intellectual sign of Gemini on May 30, 2022.

Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is retrograde at the time of this new moon.

Mercury represents your mindset and the way process information.

Did you know that experts believe that the average mind thinks between 60 and 70,000 thoughts a day?!
Many of these thoughts are repetitive over days, weeks and maybe even years.

That makes this new moon period a powerful time for identifying the thoughts and beliefs that you are powering your life with and integrating pieces of your past.

And with the recent Scorpio total lunar eclipse that took place on May 15, you just might have found a few new parts seemingly out of nowhere!

Gemini: The Third House of the Zodiac

Gemini, ruling the 3^rd house, represents student and peer relationships (as well as siblings, colleagues and community).

At last month’s Taurus New Moon, I talked about how emotions are the language of the body. Gemini teaches us that thoughts are the language of your mind.

Curiosity is king now.

What if you are not your thoughts? What if you were capable than more you’ve ever believed?

Here’s a great illustration of Gemini energy in action:

Earlier this week, I was helping a library patron with learning challenges who was trying to get a free government phone. The whole situation was very frustrating for him because he didn’t yet have a phone nor computer skills.

At one point when we were trying to set up an account, he threw his hands up and declared, “Nothing ever works for me! Everything always has to be so hard!”

Luckily, my co-worker dropped off a paper application, in the event we needed it.

I grabbed the paperwork, saying that there was an easy solution available, and continued to guide him though the steps. He said, “This is turning out great! Thanks ‘Teach!”

Clearing Limiting Beliefs

According to brain optimization expert Jim Kwik, “It’s important to see that we don’t have motivation, it’s something that we do. Saying, “I don’t have focus,” or “I don’t have creativity,” isn’t the truth. We don’t have focus, we do focus, motivation, creativity, etc. We have to take the nouns we have about ourselves and turn them into verbs. We don’t want to put ourselves in hypnosis by saying something we don’t have. It’s simply something that we do.”

Mars and Jupiter are in Aries forming harmonious energy relating to initiative and optimism.

All behavior is self-driven. This means that is whether you believe you can or you can’t, you’re right either way!

So why not try to find your brilliance and genius? I promise, you will begin to find that evidence!

• What are the beliefs that you have about your abilities? Your ability to learn? To come up with creative solutions? To grow, no matter your age or ability?
• Where do you feel not enough? Start with the stories you tell yourself and all the evidence you have to support them. What evidence do you have that disproves your stories and limiting beliefs?
• When was the last time you felt excited, inspired or curious? Is it a feeling you access often? Why or why not? How do these feelings impact your life?
